Vietnam seeks more visitors from Taiwan

In 2018, Vietnam welcomed 714,112 Taiwanese visitors, a 15.9% increase from the previous year.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will organize a roadshow to promote national tourism in Taiwan (China) and introduce Vietnamese cuisine at the Taiwanese Cuisine Festival, which is scheduled to take place from July 25 to 29, local media reported.

The event aims to deploy the 2019 national tourism promotion program and attract more visitors from Taiwan (China) to Vietnam. At the event, Vietnamese tourism  potential, policies, destinations and tour packages will be presented to Taiwanese.
On this occasion, meetings between Vietnam's and the island’s travel agencies are expected to be held to intensify cooperation opportunities and increase the number of Taiwanese visitors to Vietnam and vice versa.
Taiwan has been listed among the five biggest tourist markets of Vietnam. In 2018, Vietnam welcomed 714,112 Taiwanese visitors, a 15.9% increase against 2017. So far this year, the number of Taiwanese tourists to Vietnam was estimated at 248,310, up 25% year-on-year. The number of visitors between the two sides saw a two-fold increase after five years and is expected to reach 1.5 million arrivals in 2020.
The volume of foreign holidaymakers to Vietnam in the first four months of 2019 is estimated at nearly 6 million, an inter-annual increase of 7.6%, according to the VNAT.
So far in 2019, increases were recorded in the number of holidaymakers from almost all markets, particularly Thailand (46.5%), Indonesia (29.1%), Taiwan – China (25%), the Philippines (24.4%), South Korea (23.2%), and Malaysia (15.7%).
