Vietnam Railways launches app train ticket booking service
The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) has launched service to allow customers to book train tickets and make the payments through mobile phones since May 7.
Passengers should access the ticket selling website of Vietnam Railways at dsvn.vn and fulfill all steps as directed, to purchase train tickets through Payoo. When choosing to pay via Vietnamese language Payoo, they can then select the options of paying with their e-wallet, their international credit or debit cards, or domestic credit or debit cards.
In addition, passengers can use app MoMo for buying train tickets. Passengers need to sign in their account in the app MoMo from their mobile devices, then choose the option of buying train tickets, and enter necessary information such as kind of ticket and identification information to begin the payment process, to book train tickets through the e-wallet MoMo.
The app MoMo can be downloaded from the website https://momo.vn/ for both Android and iOS operating systems but is only available in Vietnamese. At present, people who use MoMo on iOS and Android smartphones can buy train tickets, according to a representative from M-Service.
Passengers will be offered VND500,000 (US$22.7) discount to book train tickets using Payoo or MoMo until August 7. In addition, customers can also enjoy 15% discount when booking rooms on the website vntrip.vn using MoMo application at more than 8,000 domestic hotels.
This is among the corporation’s efforts to improve their services. Over the past time, VNR has tried to improve the quality of train facilities, according to Vu Anh Minh, chairman of VNR.
Earlier, VNR has increased number of trains, with an additional 30,000 tickets in service of passengers during the Reunification Day holiday from April 30 and May 1.
