Vietnam offers support for its citizens injured in Bangkok apartment fire
Vietnamese Embassy officials have visited Vietnamese victims in recent Bangkok apartment fire.
A fire broke out in an apartment building in Bangkok on Tuesday killed three people and injured 60 others, including 13 Vietnamese citizens, cited the Vietnam Embassy in Thailand.
The fire started from a bundle of electric cables on the 5th floor of the 14-story Rajtevee building at 2.30 a.m. and escalated to the upper floors, reported AP. At the time, about 300 people were at the thirty-year-old building. Thirty people were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, and four are in a critical condition, according to the Bangkok Post.
Shortly after the fire, Vietnam Embassy in Thailand contacted and worked with local agencies to promptly identify and seek for Vietnamese victims. Until April, 3, no Vietnamese national is defined among the three dead victims, two of which were Thai men aged 18 and 46 years. The other's identity has not been revealed.
Meanwhile, 13 Vietnamese victims were taken to four local hospitals, in good condition and some have been discharged, according to the embassy.
