Fourteen teams have been selected at the 2023 Robotacon - World Robot Olympiad (WRO), known as the Robot Talent Contest to compete in November with international groups from countries leading in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

They were selected from more than 400 teams with 1,200 students who participated in qualifying rounds held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29-30 and in Haiphong on August 12-13 of the contest held by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, Vietnamese company Viet Tinh Anh, and Denmark-based LEGO Education.
The final round conducted on August 19-20 at Phenikaa University in Hanoi featured more than 350 students aged 6 to 19.
The 14 teams to be contestants in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International Final 2023 which will take place in Panama on November 7-9 include HKN- B1-01, VIN OCP HSRL 01, WELLSPRING SG 01, HONG BANG 4, VIET ROBOT B2-01, WS.AIDS, HSRL - B3 01, WE ARE FROM VIETNAM, VIỆT ROBOT B3-02, PORTERROR.WS, HAMMER HEADS, LINH CHIEU VR 02, HONG BANG 1, and HONG BANG 2.

Those 14 teams are the best for Robomission which focuses on the capabilities of engineering design, assembly and programming of robots to solve real-world problems; Future Innovators demonstrates and comprehensively develops the competencies of students in the 21st century such as research skills, presentation skills, and critical thinking in addition to foundational knowledge such as assembling and programming robots; and Robosports requires a high level of expertise in technical design and programming for teams who want to develop in-depth robotics.
Speaking at the award ceremony of the 2030 Robotacon WRO – Connecting the world held in Phenikaa University on August 20, Troels Jakobsen, Commercial Cousellor, Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, highly appreciated the contest, saying it’s a good playground for students to promote their competence and creativity.

Troels Jakobsen said “Robotacon WRO is always a useful and interesting playground where you can develop your skills and apply what you have learned into real life.” He said the contestants had dramatic but interesting days and they have shown their talents to the best of their capabilities.
Ta Ngoc Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of Primary Education, the Ministry of Education and Training, said the ministry has supported the contest closely from the beginning.
He conveyed a message to the unsuccessful teams that all the students had given it their all to play to their strengths. It can be said that they overcome themselves and they are all winners.

First held in 2004, Robotacon - WRO is a prestigious educational contest for students aged 6 to 19. More than 22,000 participants from more than 90 member nations have entered the competition so far. They are given a platform to demonstrate their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as well as to create new projects through various robotics competitions and challenges.
Annually, about 22,000 teams compete at the national level while 600 teams, or 2,000 competitors, compete in the international final round, which is rotated among the member nations.
Vietnamese teams have made numerous noteworthy accomplishments at World WRO competitions since 2016, including three silver and eight bronze medals.
