Vietnam firmly leads at the 5th Asian Beach Games
Vietnam took the lead in medal tally of the 5th Asian Beach Games, winning 31 gold, 26 silver and 31 bronze medals on day five.
Vietnamese athletes bagged three of five gold medals on September 29, continuing to dominate beach athletics at the Asian Beach Games.
Pham Thi Hue, Nguyen Thi Oanh, Lo Thi Thanh, Hoang Thi Thanh and Vu Thi Ly finished in top five places of the women’s Cross Country Individual final on September 29.
Hue clocked in 13min 56.29sec for the gold, while her teammates Oanh and Thanh won silver and bronze, respectively.
The runners bagged one more gold medal on day five when they beat Thailand in the final of the Women’s Cross Country Team races.
In the men’s team final, Vietnam only took silver medal.
In the triple jump, Vietnam’s Nguyen Van Hung grabbed gold with his 16.63m result.
Vu Thi Men leapt 13.11m to win gold in the women’s triple jump on Day 4 of the Games at Son Thuy beach, Da Nang city.
The Vietnamese athlete beat her teammate Tran Hue Hoa, who took silver with a 13.06m jump.
In shuttle cock, Dinh Van Duc beat Mainoi Praphan of Thailand 2-0 (21-13,21-16) in the men’s singles final to take home gold, while Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet won gold in the women’s singles.
