Saigontourist, Vietnam’s leading tour operator, is arranging tours for some passengers, which take in the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda and the Tomb of Tu Duc in Hue City, and the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Linh Ung Pagoda, Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village and My Khe Beach in Danang City.
Meanwhile, others visit Hoi An where they take bicycle tours to learn about daily life in the ancient town, participate in cooking classes, enjoy specialties and drop by My Son Sanctuary, a World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO.
The ship today reaches Nha Trang Port so that tourists can visit Po Nagar Cham Tower, Long Son Pagoda, the Oceanography Institute, fishing villages, boat building factories, Vinpearl Land Amusement Park on Hon Tre Island, and handicraft villages, and do some shopping at Dam Market. The ship will leave Nha Trang this afternoon.
According to Saigontourist, cruise tourism will grow well this year. The company expects to welcome 110 vessels docking at ports in Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue and Ha Long Bay with a total of 220,000 passengers and crew members, up 20 per cent year-on-year.
In 2015, Vietnam welcomes first ‘US$5-visa fee’ cruise ship. The first mega cruise ship to benefit from Vietnam’s new ‘US$5 visa fee’ docked on January 12 at Tan Cang-Cai Mep port in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province carrying an estimated 1,200 passengers.
On this time, many economists have called the new reduced fee scheme approved by the Prime Minister a dream come true for the tourism industry and have predicted that it would positively impact the economy. According to economists, the government's objective was to boost tourism and the recent changes have sent out a clear message that Vietnam is serious about making travel to the country easy.
