Vietnam Airlines launches new route from Nha Trang to Seoul.
The airline will operate four flights per week with Airbus A321 aircraft to meet the increasing travel demand of passengers between the two countries. The new route marks an important step in the implementation of a cooperation deal on trade, tourism and aviation promotion signed between Khanh Hoa People’s Committee and Vietnam Airlines.
The carrier opened the first flight linking Ho Chi Minh City with Seoul in 1993, according to Luu Anh Tuan, head of the Vietnam Airlines Branch in South Korea.
The freshly-launched flight is the fourth air route linking a locality of Vietnam with Seoul after the Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City/Da Nang – Seoul routes, raising the total flights per week between Vietnam and South Korea to 53, he added.
The flights from Cam Ranh airport in Nha Trang city will depart at 9:35 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, while those from Incheon airport in Seoul will take off at 6:20 am (local time) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flight duration will take five hours each way.
Nha Trang is a coastal city and the capital of Khanh Hoa Province on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is bordered by Ninh Hoa district on the north, Cam Ranh town on the south, and Dien Khanh district on the west. The city has about 392,000 inhabitants, a number that is projected to increase to 560,000 by 2015  and 630,000 inhabitants by 2025.
Meanwhile, Seoul’s Incheon International Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. The airport has been ranked as the Best Airport Worldwide for 11 consecutive years by the Airports Council International (ACI)'s Airport Service Quality Award from 2005 to 2016.
South Korea was Vietnam’s second biggest source of tourism, but posted the highest growth rate of 55.3% on-year. Vietnam attracted nearly 2.2 million Koreans in the year to the end of November 2017, according to the General Statistics Office.
