Two Women triumphs at Hanoi International Film Festival
On November 27, the third Hanoi International Film Festival closing ceremony (HANIFF) took place at the Palace of Soviet-Vietnamese to officially close exciting five- day festival of Vietnamese and international filmmakers.
The film "Two women" by Russian director Vera Glagoleva won the Best length film at the Hanoi International Film Festival closing ceremony and awards.

After receiving numerous awards at international film festivals, the hope of the host country - "Flapping from the middle of nowhere" came back and won the the Special Jury Award For Feature - Length Film.
Director Nguyen Hoang Diep was very moved and shared her feelings.
She said that she was so happy because this was the first time the moive won an award and she was here to receive the award.
Although the film won several awards at international film festivals, she could not be there to receive the awards because of some personal reasons.
To be received and recognised and screen our movie at our hometown, I would like to send a special thank to the organizing board, the jury board as well as the film crew to make this award happen, thank you so much, she said.
Director Shahram Mokri of Iran with the film “Fish and cat” won the Best Director Of Feature - Length Flim.
Director Ruslan Akun of Kyrzyzstan with the film “Herding” won the Best Director Of Feature – Short Film.
Anna Levanova acted in “Two women” (Russia) won the Best Leading Actress.
Allen Dizon acted in “The Coffin Maker” (Philippines) won the Best Leading Actor.
The jury also gave a special preciation to the role of children in the film "The Weight Of The Elephants" (New Zealand).
The corresponding award for short films went to the 14-minute entry, “What's Out There” directed by Nguyen Diep Thuy Anh.
Previously, the organizing board had a hard time to choose movies to nominate because there were as many as 441 films from 39 countries and territories throughout the world participating the contest. Meanwhile the quality of the movies are highly evaluated by the jury.
Finally, 130 films from 33 countries and territories had been officially selected to nominate all categories.
Particularly,long film category of the third Hanoi International Film Festival includes 11 films from India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Kazakstan, Russia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
