From December 31, 2016 to January 3, 2017, an exhibition themed "Truong Sa in the heart of Hanoi" with 100 photos will be showcased at Trang Tien Exhibition Centre, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
The event is part of activities of the programme named “green Truong Sa”, calling the youths, scientists, researchers, artists, and social organisations nationwide to join efforts to support soldiers and residents on Truong Sa island district and the DK 1 Platform.

The exhibition showcases the first-ever comprehensive collection of 100 marvelous photos in four themes, namely "Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands" introducing images of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands and Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos; “Nature of Truong Sa" reflecting the natural beauty of Truong Sa Islands, "Truong Sa’s portrait” reflecting the daily life of officers, soldiers and people who are working and living on the islands and "Hanoi with Truong Sa" featuring the sentiment of the capital city towards Truong Sa and vice versa.

Other exhibits include memorabilia and artifacts sent from the islands to the exhibition, such as: Truong Sa’s bang vuong (square-fruit Malabar Almond) trees, national flags on Son Ca and Da Lat Islands, a Hoang Sa-Truong Sa clock post cards and poem books, among others.

The exhibition aims at introducing local people and international visitors the images of Truong Sa Islands and providing historical and legal evidences that prove Viet Nam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos. Organized by Youth Club for the Homeland’s Seas and Islands of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the exhibition will last until January 3, 2017.

The exhibition aims to introduce Truong Sa (Spratly) islands and Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos to Hanoians, people nationwide, and international tourists. It also helps connect those who have visited Truong Sa with the community, and promote patriotism and the love for the country’s sea and islands.

The photos feature the beauty of the people, soldiers, daily life activities and the landscapes of Truong Sa, as well as the love of Hanoi people for Truong Sa soldiers, and vice verse. Other exhibits include Truong Sa’s bang vuong (square-fruit Malabar Almond) trees, flags, post cards and poem books, among others.

The event also introduced publications, documents and studies relating to Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty by domestic and foreign researchers and scholars. Many photos and documents reflect the process Vietnam continuously exercised and defended its sovereignty over Truong Sa.

On the occasion, the organizing board will also raise fund to donate NT60 water purifiers for troops and people on the An Bang Island
