Travel agents enhance tourist promotion in Belgium
Vietnamese travel companies are introducing Vietnam’s cultural features, natural landscapes and cuisine to visitors at the 60th Brussels Holiday Fair which is being held in Belgium’s capital city from February 1-4.
Also at the event, representatives from Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, are providing visitors with information about its inbound and outbound flights, especially air routes from Belgium and other European nations to Vietnam.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Vuong Thua Phong took the occasion to promote the image of Vietnamese land and people to Belgian and international partners.
Nguyen Thi Dung Hanh from the Gvietnamtravels Company said that this time her company offers tours designed to fit requirements of each group of consumers, and satisfy all demands from visa application to flight ticket purchase.
According to her, Belgium is a promising market for Vietnamese travel agencies.
At the event, several Belgian companies also introduce their attractive tours to Vietnam.
Willy Somers, a representative of Lauwers – a Belgian tourism company - said that his company is introducing many tours to Vietnam to Belgian tourists, mainly for 12-15 day tours from the North to the South of Vietnam.
He revealed that Belgian tourists are very interested in the Vietnam’s market and the company's tourists always expressed their satisfaction about the country after the trips.
“All our tours to Vietnam are full next month and we plan to have other tours to Vietnam every month in 2018,” Somers said.
Thanks to many tourist promotion programs at the first month of the year, Vietnam’s tourist sector received 1.43 million foreign visitors in January, up 42% year-on-year and 12.1% month-on-month. Arrivals from European Union, America and Australia reported the highest growth in the month.
Vietnam this year targeted to receive 15-17 million international tourists and serve 78 million domestic visitors, earning total revenue of VND620 trillion (US$27.31 billion).
VNAT said that the tourism sector will take drastic and synchronous measures in 2018 to reach the targets. Accordingly, tourism promotion in both international and domestic markets will be strengthened next year. Besides, the tourism sector will also focus on turning Vietnam into a safe and friendly destination while creating clear changes in improving the quality of services and tourism.
The General Statistics Office reported that Vietnam received a record high of 12.9 million foreign visitors in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 29.1 per cent. The tourist sector also served 73 million domestic travelers. Total revenue from tourism activities last year reached over VND510 trillion (US$22.4 billion).
