Three Vietnamese clubs may compete in AFC events

Vietnam will have one representative at the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Champions League in the next two years.
Vietnam are number 16 in the continent and second in ASEAN, according to the AFC. The number of clubs participating in the AFC tournament remains unchanged.
 
Hanoi T&T will represent Việt Nam at the AFC Champions League.

National premier league champions Hanoi T&T will compete from the pre-qualification round. In case they fail, they will move to the AFC Cup’s group round. If Hanoi T&T win a berth in the Champions League’s group round, the AFC Cup’s berth will go to another Vietnamese club, to be identified later.
The AFC also reports that National Cup winner Quang Ninh Coal FC will play at the Cup’s group stage.
