The Planning and Investment Sector awarded Ho Chi Minh Order
On behalf of the Party and State, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan presented the Ho Chi Minh Order, the second, to the Ministry of Planning and Investment at a ceremony to mark the sector’s 70th founding anniversary in Hanoi on December 9.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment organised a ceremony to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary, December 30, and received the Ho Chi Minh Order.
Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan praised the significant contributions of the sector to the country’s development, renovation and integration.
The agency has given advice to the Government on many important policies for the reform process of State-owned businesses, while making contributions to building and perfecting legal documents on assisting enterprises.
According to Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, the country’s policy to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) plays a crucial role in removing economic blockade and embargo, as well as in luring external resources to serve its socio-economic development, thus fostering the nation’s regional and global integration.
Congratulating and praising the sector's efforts in the past 70 years, the Vice President stressed that the country has been fully integrated into the region and the world with many difficulties and challenges. So, the planning and investment sector plays an important role in the national socio-economic development.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan asked the planning and investment sector to ceaselessly improve its role as an advisor to the Party and State leaders on the country’s socio-economic development strategies.
The Vice President suggested the sector to enhance to manage and use investment resources economically, transparently and effectively, preventing loss and wastage.
The sector need promote the reform of administrative procedures, improve the business investment climate, create favourable conditions to encourage the people and businesses in doing business in accordance with the law, she required.

The Planning and Investment sector has taken many initiatives in managing public investment to solve scattered investment and public debt in investment, improve the efficiency of investment and draw official development assistance (ODA) sources.
