Swimmer Anh Vien granted second-class Labor Medal

State President Truong Tan Sang met with outstanding coaches and athletes who participate at the recent 28th SEA Games in Hanoi on June 23. Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien was awarded second-class Labor Medal by the President.
Addressing the meeting, State President Truong Tan Sang said the Vietnamese delegation’s achievements at the recent 28th SEA Games have encouraged the sport spirit nationwide and boosted Vietnam’s image.
 

The Presiden confirmed that the Government and Party will create additional favourable conditions to stimulate the development of sports and called on coaches and athletes to continue with efforts to improve the country’s position in regional and global sport in the next five years. 
Vietnam sent 392 sportsmen and women to the 28th SEA Games held from June 5-16 in Singapore. The country came out third on the medal tally with 186 medals, including 73 gold. 
Vietnamese athletes set 13 new SEA Games’ records during the event, including 8 records in swimming.
