VNS 09:42, 2014/01/21
Swedish band Vocalettes will make their debut performance in Hanoi on January 22 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Sweden-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

Their performance will kick off a series of cultural activities planned for the anniversary.

During their performance at the Hanoi Opera House, the group, which consists of three women, will present several hits by the legendary Swedish band ABBA.

Vietnam's pop diva, My Linh, is also scheduled to perform at the show, along with the Swedish artists.

Vocalettes was founded in 2002 as part of one of Sweden's largest concert tours, Rhapsody In Rock, which continues to be held at several arenas and concert halls across Scandinavian countries even today.

In August 2008, the group had the opportunity to perform at the Olympics in China, along with Robert Wells, a Swedish pianist, composer and singer, who is best known for his highly successful musical extravaganza, Rhapsody in Rock.

Apart from their appearances on Swedish television, the Vocalettes has also performed at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and the Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as for royal guests, such as the Swedish king and queen.

The band has worked together with several international stars, including Paul Carrack, Albert Lee, Glenn Hughes, Gino Vannelli, Ronan Keating and Lionel Richie.

They have also collaborated with leading Swedish stars, such as Carola, Charlotte Perrelli and Bjorn Skifs.
