The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People`s Committee has recently given conclusion on a study about organizing visits by the people and visitors to the headquarters of the People`s Council and the People`s Committee at a certain period of time.

In addition, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong also concluded on the 1/500-scale master plan design and the architectural design of the project to expand and upgrade the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee.
The Chairman appreciated Gensler consultants’ preparation for and serious study of the 1/500-scale planning design and construction architecture, which have been updated and improved as suggested by the city’s Architectural Planning Council.
Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong reminded that the arrangement of the City Council’s meeting room must ensure solemn atmosphere and the most convenient conditions for the agency to convene meetings and work; other tasks were to build the city’ history room to display souvenirs, to construct a library and smart urban management center.
At the same time, to conduct studies on swapping headquarters of some agencies for better arrangement. The block facing Le Thanh Ton street (block A, the conservation block) will be solely for arranging the working place of the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee, and a place to display objects collected from the Governor Palace (Dinh Xa Tay), the Town Hall and the city government agency headquarters, as well as other construction works.
The tourism industry saw a strong start in 2018 as the international tourist arrivals to Vietnam reached over 4.2 million people in the first quarter of the year, an increase of 30.9% year on year. About 3.1 million foreigners came from Asian countries in the first three months, up 37.6% year on year. Visitors from South Korea showed the highest growth of 69.2%, followed by those from China (42.9%), according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
In which, Vietnam tourism earned more than VND10 trillion (US$440 million), up 30.3% year on year with Ho Chi Minh City posting the strongest surge of 32.3%.
