The two ships with more than 600 officers and sailors are scheduled to arrive at Tien Sa port on September 7 to begin a two-day visit with lots of activities and refueling, VnExpress reported.

The South Korean crew will be welcomed by representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, Command of Vietnam’s Naval Region 3, and Da Nang city.

As planned, representatives from the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the South Korean community in Da Nang will visit the destroyer.

Naval officers from both countries will also discuss and share information on ships maintenance and preservation, together with art performance.

The ship is aimed with advanced military equipment and a helicopter to serve its duties of reconnaissance, patrol, anti-submarine, and anti-ship missions, and attacking land targets.

Moon Mu The Great first visited Da Nang on September 11, 2018 for joint exercises with Vietnam’s Naval Region 3, which is in charge of ensuring peace and stability in waters off Vietnam’s north-central coast.

Logistics ship Roks Hwacheon, meanwhile, is 134 meters long and 18 meters wide with a loading capacity of over 9,000 tons. The ship will be visiting Vietnam for the second time after the first in September 2017.
