Singaporean conductor to raise baton at music fest

Well-known Singaporean conductor Kah Chun Wong will perform at two concerts including the Programmes Chamber Music and "Friendship Melodies" of the “Asia-Europe” New Music Festival on Oct. 9-10.

Chun Wong, who is on his first visit to Vietnam, shared that he was very happy when receiving the invitation to attend the festival, adding that this was also a good chance to explore Vietnamese culture and people.
 

 


Recently named the 1st Prize winner at the 5th International Conducting Competition “Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest” in 2013, young Singaporean conductor Kahchun Wong also conducts the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in the 2013/2014 season, and Artistic Director of the Asian Contemporary Ensemble. 

In 2011, he made headlines winning 2nd Prize at the 4th International Lovro von Matacic Competition for Young Conductors in Zagreb, and performed in a televised gala with the Croatian RTV Symphony Orchestra.

After his performance in Vietnam, Chun Wong will attend a number of large concerts across the world including the Musical Olympus Festival and Aspen Music Festival.
