Samsung to become the top electronics company in Vietnam: President

President Truong Tan Sang received General Director of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. Han Myong Sup in Hanoi on March 30.
At the reception, President Sang expressed his delight over increasing business achievements by Samsung Group of the Republic of Korea (RoK), especially in Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces and HCM City.

The President highly appreciated the cooperation between Samsung and Vietnam's scientific organisations in establishing a Research and Development (R&D) centre in the country.
The Vietnamese leader asked Samsung Group to help Vietnam develop the support industry.
President Sang wished that the Samsung Group will reach more success in the coming time and soon realise its target of 50 billion USD from export, becoming the top electronics company in Vietnam.
During the meeting, General Director Han Myong Sup informed President Sang about the progress of Samsung’s projects in Vietnam, including the first smart TVs being manufactured in HCM City.
Han Myong Sup said that at present Samsung plants in Vietnam have employed more than 110,000 labourers and total shipments to foreign countries has reached 32 billion USD.
The Group has organised a number of conferences on the support industry since 2014 to attract local partners to join its production chain, he added.
Han Myong Sup believed that with the Government’s support, more Vietnamese enterprises will be able to join Samsung’s production chain, which will increase the rate of locally made components in their electronic products.
Also on the same day, the ceremony of issuing the project`s registration certificate of investment to Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. was held in Hanoi with a focus on investment project of R&D centre of Samsung Electronics in Hanoi, worth 300 million USD.
