Rio 2016: Vietnamese to row in semifinal round

Vietnamese rowers Ho Thi Ly and Ta Thanh Huyen will compete in the semifinals C/D of the lightweight women’s double sculls in the Rio Olympics.
The duo finished in a time of 8min 19sec 79, ranking fourth among the six teams in the repechage two on August 9 (Brazil time).

Earlier in the qualifying round, the pair completed their competition with a time of 7min 29sec 91.
After four days, the United States leads the overall medal table with nine gold medals, eight silvers and nine bronzes, followed by China with eight gold medals, three silvers and six bronzes.
Vietnam is 19th with the historic gold won by marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh in the men’s 10m air pistol the country’s only medal.
