Prompt investigation urged in Taiwan death
Vietnam`s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang put it in the official statement on Thursday.
The Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office (VECO) in Taipei, Taiwan, is coordinating with local agencies on the investigation into the shooting death of a Vietnamese citizen, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said on Thursday.
She was responding to reporters’ question about the death by gunshot of Nguyen Quoc Phi, reportedly a migrant worker. She said Phi’s family had arrived in Taiwan and the Taipei-based office was coordinating with local agencies to assist the family in bringing the body home.
The VECO was informed of the incident on August 31 and immediately asked local agencies to promptly investigate, Hang noted, adding that the office would protect the rights and legitimate interests of the deceased.
