Piloting Double-decker buses: New travelling products bring many expectations

After a period of technical testing, Double-decker sightseeing buses (City tour) have been submitted to the Hanoi People`s Committee for the pilot implementation.
This is one of the products expected to bring new features, contributing to attract tourists when coming to Hanoi.
 



 
The Hanoi Department of Transport and the Hanoi Transport and Services Corporation (TRANSERCO) have built a roadmap, time schedule, and operational criteria for the first Double-decker sightseeing buses in Hanoi.

Accordingly, during week days, the City bus tour will operate in 19 roads namely the Hanoi Opera House – Dinh Tien Hoang – Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square- Le Thai To-Trang Thi-Dien Bien Phu-Doc Lap-Hoang Van Thu-Hung Vuong-Thanh Nien-Yen Phu-Thanh Nien-Hung Vuong-Phan Dinh Phung-Hoang Dieu-Le Hong Phong-Hung Vuong-Nguyen Thai Hoc-Cu Nam-Pham Boi Chau-Ly Thuong Kiet-Phan Chu Trinh-Hanoi Opera House.

 



 
At weekends, the route will run through the Hanoi Opera House-Trang Tien-Ngo Quyen-Ly Thuong Kiet-Quang Trung-Trang Thi-Dien Bien Phu-Doc Lap-Hoang Van Thu-Hung Vuong-Thanh Nien-Yen Phu- Thanh Nien-Hung Vuong-Phan Dinh Phung-Hoang Dieu-Le Hong Phong-Hung Vuong-Nguyen Thai Hoc-Cua Nam-Phan Boi Chau-Ly Thuong Kiet-Phan Chu Trinh-the Ha Noi Opera House.

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Tourism also collaborated with relevant departments, agencies to choose 14 bus stops for tourists at sightseeing areas, including: the Hanoi Opera House, Hanoi Post Office; Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, the Great Church; the Vietnam Military History Museum; the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum; Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Temple, Cu Bac Church; Thang Thang Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature; Hoa Lo Prision; and near the Vietnam Women’s Museum.



 

The bus, designed following all technical safety standards, is equipped with 4G, Wifi, and has devices to fix wheelchairs to the floor, making it accessible to the disable.

The bus has 14 seats at the lower level and over 30 seats on the second storey, which has a retractable roof to shelter tourists from the sun or rain. Open-top tour buses are popular in major cities around the world, including London, New York and Singapore.
