Peru film week kicks off in Hanoi
A peru film week 2014 has taken place from December 5 to 7 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Peru (1994-2014).
Vietnam and Peru are marking the 20th anniversary of their good diplomatic ties and to commemorate the event, the Peruvian embassy in Hanoi has organized a film screening.

The event promises to bring great Peruvian movies in different areas and topics to Vietnamese film lovers.
At the opening ceremony, the film named "Upstream" was screened.
The film is a social drama which tell the story of a protagonist’s psychological struggle against severe prejudices of society about third gender.
Then the well-known film titled 'La Teta Asustada' (The Milk of Sorrow) by Peruvian director Claudia Llosa will also be screened.
It won the Golden Bear award at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival in 2009 and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards, becoming the first Peruvian film to be nominated for the prize.
In addition to serving young cinemagoers’ tastes, cartoons shaped new technology titled “Rodencia and the princess’ teeth” will also be screened weekly during the film week.
The film fest is free to the public and located at the Hanoi Cinematheque, 22 Hai Ba Trung, Hai Ba Trung district in Hanoi.
Previously, a culinary week was held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from November 24 -28 to mark the 20th anniversary of Vietnam – Peru diplomatic relations.
Coming to the Peruvian Food Festival, Vietnamese people had a chance to try cooking as well as tasting signature dishes from the Latin American country, including the Quinoa salad and the popular cocktails Pisco Sour and Algarrobina, presented by famous Peruvian chef Maria Rosa.
During the week-long event, a gala dinner was organized by the Peruvian Embassy in Vietnam to review the Vietnam-Peru cooperation in politics, diplomacy, economy, trade and culture in 2014.
