‘Nordic Sustainable Cities’ exhibition opens in Hanoi

The photo exhibition aims at promoting knowledge exchange and experience among professionals, architects, city planners and students from Denmark and Vietnam.

A photo exhibition entitled ‘Nordic Sustainable Cities’ has been opened to public by the Embassy of Denmark and ASHUI Co. Ltd, introducing successful green projects in Denmark and the other Nordic countries to Vietnamese audiences.

Lasting until December 19, the exhibition is held physically at AgoHub ( No 12 Hoa Ma Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) and online at http://ashui.com/nordiccities/. 

Within the framework of the exhibition, a seminar called ‘Sustainable and Liveable Cities – From Nordics to Asia’ also took place, aiming at promoting knowledge exchane and experience among professionals, architects, city planners, experts, researchers, university teachers and students from the two countries.

The even also draws the participation in virtual format of experts from Copenhagen, Tokyo, Singapore and Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam Kim Højlund Christensen stressed that since 2010 the Embassy of Denmark has always been working closely with its Vietnamese partners for knowledge exchanging. Goverment and urban planners of the two countries always desire to build up sustainable and liveable cities fortheir peoples.

“I hope that local partners and friends of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam would be able to learn the experience from Copenhagen and other cities of Denmark of their ways to become the most green and liveable cities in the world,” he stated.

Denmark was among the very first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, on November 25, 1971. The country has provided Vietnam with a total Official Development Assistance (ODA) of over US$1.3 billion since 1994 and is now among Vietnam's biggest ODA providers among EU member states.

Vietnam-Denmark bilateral trade has surged by nearly 100% since 2010 and more than 130 Danish companies are currently operating in Vietnam.
