The organisers of the well-known fashion reality TV show, Viet Nam`s Next Top Model, have chosen 16 candidates to compete for the championship in the show`s fifth season.

The 16 candidates, who were selected from thousands of applicants during the pre-qualification rounds organised in HCM City and Ha Noi, are ready to be coached by local and foreign fashion-industry insiders. The group will live together in a common house in the city's District 2 during the competition.

This season, model Xuan Lan, who played the host during the previous season, resumes her task after a long break to give birth to a daughter.

She told the press there would be a change in the way she coaches the contestants, expecting that this season will be the most exciting of the cycles. Australian model and model expert Adm Williams will also be part of the jury, as well as make-up expert Nam Trung, Nguyen Thanh Huong, editor-in-chief of F-Fashion Magazine.

According to organisers, this year's contestants met the international height standards, and had interesting personalities.

The first episode of the TV reality show will be aired on Viet Nam Television beginning November 1 every Saturday evening.

Viet Nam's Next Top Model has trained several renowned models who have since joined international fashion events such as Huyen Trang, Tuyet Lan, Hoang Thuy, Kha My Van, Mau Thuy, Cha Mi, Van Kien, Tuan Viet and others.
