According to musician Nguyen Quoc Trung, Monsoon Music Festival will be held in a completely new format starting from this year's festival season, with a spectacular music festival lasting 10 days at various venues in the capital.

With the theme of "Hang Nhac Street" - inspired by the names of 36 streets in Hanoi, Monsoon Music Festival 2023 will be held from October 14 to 22 at various venues in Hanoi's Old Quarter, including Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street, Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center at No. 50 Dao Duy Tu, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, and others.

The music festival attracts the participation of more than 40 local and international artists/bands, interpreting more than 70 performances and nearly 4000 minutes of musical immersion, spreading the festive atmosphere throughout the city.

"We want to bring music to every corner of Hanoi, spread the festive atmosphere, satisfy the community's need for enjoyment, and at the same time attract more tourists to the capital," he said.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Nguyen Quoc Hoan said that the Monsoon International Music Festival has become one of the capital's cultural events held every October.

"The spectacular return of the Monsoon Music Festival will bring new inspiration to artists and cultural workers in Hanoi and contribute to reaffirming Hanoi's brand as a 'Creative City' in UNESCO's network of Creative Cities around the world," he stressed.

The music festival's opening night will be held at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in Sword Lake on October 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, the "Hang Nhac Street" performance week will be held at more than 10 venues in Hanoi's Old Quarter in Hoan Kiem District from October 15 to 20. At each of these night performances, Hanoi's music lovers can enjoy the festive atmosphere with exciting songs and dances performed by local and international bands.

The closing nights of the Monsoon Music Festival 2023, titled "Thang Long Thanh Hoi" (The Festival of Thang Long Imperial Citadel), will occur at 8pm on October 21 and 22 at the historic site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. These highlight performances of the Monsoon Music Festival will be held at the exact time and date at the same venue for five consecutive years starting in 2023.
