The prestigious and exclusive gastronomic event helps celebrate the accomplishments of the vibrant culinary communities in three of Vietnam's major cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang.

According to the organizer of the event, this year's MICHELIN Guide Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang Ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 27 in Vietnam's largest southern hub.

With a new one-night format that combines the official announcement of the MICHELIN Guide restaurant selection and premium cocktail reception with live streaming to reach a wider audience, this prestigious and exclusive event will not only unveil the annual MICHELIN Guide selections for Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang, celebrate the accomplishments of the vibrant culinary communities in these three cities but also serve as an opportunity for these communities to unite and inspire one another to reach new heights.

The event will see the announcement of the MICHELIN Guide Special Awards, MICHELIN Selected, Bib Gourmand, and the highly anticipated MICHELIN Stars. Meanwhile, a live stream of the event will be available on the MICHELIN Guide Asia YouTube channel.

All dining establishments in the selection are assessed and rated by anonymous MICHELIN Guide inspectors, according to five universal criteria: quality of the ingredients; mastery of cooking techniques; the harmony of the flavors; expression of the chef’s personality in the cuisine; and consistency of excellence over time and across the entire menu. These criteria - now applied in more than 40 destinations around the world - guarantee a consistent and fair selection, as well as a uniform and international standard of excellence.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, believes that the Michelin award will give a new impetus to Vietnam's culinary industry and attract foreign chefs to open restaurants here.

"The Michelin star is like a passport that helps the restaurant go out into the world, helps chefs have more freedom in style, promotes their personalities, and empowers them to pursue their dreams. Starred restaurants attract more visitors, who stay longer and spend more, helping the local tourism industry," he said.

The Michelin star is an honor for a restaurant and a reference for diners. Many people look forward to trying the food at Michelin-starred restaurants. The more guests come, the higher the demand and requirements will be. The restaurant owners must make efforts to improve the service, so the food quality will be more and more refined, according to Gwendal Poullennec.
