Masterclass Session with Quan and Al Kassian
Quan và Al Kassian introduce the musical results of their 02 weeks of collecting sounds in Hanoi.
The Savage Club Hanoi, in collaboration with Goethe-Institute Hanoi are happy to introduce a new series of events dedicated to create synergies between German and Vietnam’s electronic music artists. From November 24th until December 8th, 2017, we welcome Alex Kassian, better known as “Al Kassian”, Berlin based electronic music producer behind the “Planet Sundea” label. He has been invited to hold production sessions together with the producer Quan and a workshop for those who wish to know more about the art of making electronic music.
The masterclass session on Thursday, the 7th of December 2017 offers opportunities when the two producers present their music and explain their intentions. During the two weeks they collected lots of sounds from Hanoi, everything they can use and integrate into one or several electronic tracks. The musical results of this work they will show to you in this masterclass.
AL KASSIAN was born in 1986 in Kyoto, Japan. He was raised between Japan and the United Kingdom, and studied at Goldsmiths, University of London (2007-2010), where he undertook a BA in Design & Research. Since 2013 he relocated to Berlin. There, as a sound designer and soundtrack composer, he started working closely together with contemporary dancer, choreographer and director Felix Matthias Ott. In 2016, he launched his own record label Planet Sundae and debuted his single “Diamonds on Jupiter.” In 2017, he launched his live performance project “Opal Sunn” with his studio partner Hiroaki Oba, and is currently working on numerous projects.
