Longest expressway opens for public

​The 245km Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway, the longest and most modern of its kind in Viet Nam, was opened for public
The expressway is expected to help shorten travel time from Ha Noi to Lao Cai from the current 7 hours to only 3.5 hours.
 
It is part of the Kunming-Hai Phong Transport Corridor and falls under the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) cooperative program linking Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and China.
Infrastructure development is one of the three strategic breakthroughs that the Government is now focusing on to give a strong boost to the country’s socio-economic development and regional economic connectivity.
In the North alone, a network of highways has been built to link economic hubs of Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh.
