Japanese Ministry of Defense to conduct 2nd Japan-ASEAN Ship Rider Cooperation Program
The second Japan-ASEAN Ship Rider Cooperation Program will take place from 10 to 15 May.
The Japanese Ministry of Defense will conduct its second Japan-ASEAN Ship Rider Cooperation Program on board a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Ship OSUMI during six day from 10 May.
This program is an initiative under the “Vientiane Vision”, which was announced by Japan.
Consistent with the guiding principles in the vision, this program, inviting all ASEAN member states, will contribute to regional stability by providing opportunities for participants to build mutual understanding and professional networks, enhance capabilities related to maritime security and share understanding of International Law of the Sea.
Specifically, the program will include seminars on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and International Law of the Sea, and opportunities to observe various training activities.
The program, taking place from Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia on board OSUMI, welcomes a military representative from each ASEAN member to attend during May 10-15, 2018.
