Ireland to support Hanoi in developing high-tech agriculture
The Ireland can shake hand with Hanoi on transferring technology and training labor force to head to the high-tech agriculture.
The announcement was made during the meeting between Hanoi authority leaders with Mr. Andrew Doyle, Irish Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture on March 16.
Accordingly, during the meeting with Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee on March 16, Andrew Doyle thanked the warm welcome of Hanoi authority, especially for their support to celebrate Irish St Patrick’s Day (March 17) by lighting the city’s iconic constructions green. Last year, Nha Bat Giac in Ly Thai To Park became the 100th landmark in the world to go green for St Patrick’s Day. This year, the celebration event continues at the Thap But, to demonstrate the Vietnam-Ireland friendship.
For his parts, Hai welcomed the Irish official’s trip and appreciated the significance of celebration events of the St Patrick’s Day in Hanoi. “The events also prove the commitment of both countries on environmental protection”, pressed Hai. He also highlighted the cooperation between the two countries as well as Hanoi and Irish cities.
Both sides expressed their belief that they will continue to support each other on international forums. In the coming time, Ireland's investment in Vietnam will increase and cooperation will be stronger in education and training, high technology agriculture, software production.
* Earlier on March 16, Hanoi's Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung met Andrew Doyle, affirming that the city would continue to create favor conditions for strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ireland.
At the same time, Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his impression of the developed agriculture, which helped Ireland overcome difficult periods in the past. Accordingly, under the program of socio-economic development during 2016-2020, “Hanoi expects to enhance cooperation with Ireland in technology transfer, high-tech agriculture development as well as human resource training in agriculture, heritage preservation, tourism...” said the Mayor.
The trip of Mr. Andrew Doyle as well as the upcoming assistance of the Irish Embassy in Vietnam will be a bridge for the city to expand cooperation with Irish enterprises in fields, emphasized Chung.
On the same day, Hanoi’s Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung received Adnan Abdullah Al-Ahmad, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Vietnam. The ambassador expressed his gratitude to the city authority, which facilitated many activities in Hanoi by the Embassy of Kuwait.
