Investment Minister reassures foreign investors

Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh has sent a message committing to protecting foreign businesses and investors in Viet Nam after some spontaneous demonstrations caused economic damage to several foreign-invested companies.
Minister Vinh on May 15 signed documents delivered to the Embassies and foreign associations in Viet Nam on the case that workers in several localities staged spontaneous demonstrations that affected the country's business environment.

Their acts were prompted by China's illegally placement of its Haiyang Shiyou – 981 drilling rig deep in Viet Nam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
However, some wrongdoers posing as workers roused to unprompted actions and caused losses to foreign enterprises and badly affected Viet Nam’s investment environment.
Viet Nam’s agencies at all levels have taken measures to resolutely prevent and strictly deal with the violations. The law breakers have been treated strictly in accordance with law.
Local authorities are encouraging laborers to protect their enterprises and investors for the sake of the nation and their legitimate benefits.
