International Children's Festival VTV 2018 to be held in Khanh Hoa

With the participation of eight countries, the 3rd International Children Festival VTV2018 will be held at Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa from May 29 to June 3.
This was announced by Vietnam Television at a press conference in Hanoi. The festival is an annual event organised by the Vietnam Television on the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1. It aims to strengthen solidarity among the nations in the region through the exchange activities of children.

Under the theme "For a green planet", this year's festival attracts the participation of seven international teams from Russia, South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, along with the host, Vietnam.
The programme will not only bring joy with its outdoor activities, but will also raise awareness of environmental protection among the children, according to Dang Diem Quynh, Head of the Organising Committee.
During the five days of the festival, the children will participate in main activities such as a “Green Earth” art gala, which will be broadcast live on VTV1 chanel at 8:10 pm on June 1, with the participation of the singer Nhi Dong Nhi, little singer Phuong Khanh; and “Friendship days” programme with the participation of children from the eight participating countries.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs launched the 2018 Action Month for Children, themed “For children’s safe and healthy living”, in Phu Tho province, in response to International Children’s Day (June 1).
The campaign sets to promote the children’s rights to protection, respect and living in a safe and healthy environment in the digital era. At the ceremony, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children presented scholarships and gifts to 60 impoverished children to motivate them to overcome difficulties. A delegation from the fund also visited SOS Children’s Village in the provincial capital of Viet Tri and gave gifts to children here later the same day.
During the action month for children in 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will hold a series of events and activities to support children in need. Meanwhile, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children will allocate more than VND14 billion (US$616,000) for activities to support about 5,000 children from difficult backgrounds across the country.
