Of this, international visitors accounted for 5.7 million, exceeding the city’s 2024 target of 5.5 million international arrivals. The figure rose nearly 36% on-year.

Domestic tourists reached 19.7 million, up 6.3% on-year.

The robust growth in tourist numbers brought Hanoi’s total tourism revenue to nearly VND100 trillion (US$4.1 billion) in the 11-month period, up 18% increase on-year.

In November alone, Hanoi welcomed nearly 2.2 million tourists, which gained 16% annually. This includes 680,800 international visitors, up 28.4% year-on-year, and 1.5 million domestic tourists, marking a 7.1% increase over the same period. The average occupancy rate for hotels in Hanoi was estimated at 67%, up 14% from November 2023. By the end of November, Hanoi had over 3,700 accommodation facilities with approximately 71,200 rooms, including 91 hotels and serviced apartments rated 1 to 5 stars, totaling 12,000 rooms.

Additionally, the city boasts 45 certified dining establishments, 43 shopping facilities, seven entertainment venues, and two health and wellness centers that meet tourism service standards.

Hanoi has conducted promotional campaigns in key markets such as South Korea, Japan, Egypt, and South Africa to showcase its image as a destination of safety, friendliness, high-quality services, and attractions, said Nguyen Anh Duong, Director of the Hanoi Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center.

These promotional efforts have boosted the number of domestic and international tourists visiting Hanoi, offering them rich and immersive experiences, he added.

Moving forward, Hanoi will continue innovating its management and conservation efforts, particularly for historically and culturally significant sites such as the special national relic of Huong Son Complex in My Duc District, said Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

The city will also further its pilot programs for agricultural and rural tourism development by launching rural tourism products in Tich Giang Commune (Phuc Tho District) and hosting training workshops on community-based tourism in Gia Lam, Quoc Oai, and Me Linh districts, she said.

Via these strategies, Hanoi aims to diversify its tourism offerings, preserve cultural heritages, and foster sustainable tourism growth while enhancing socio-economic development, Giang added.
