Hanoi unveils a detailed planning of the National Sports Complex
The Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture announced a detailed planning for the National Sports Complex integrated with shopping, convention and tourism centres in Nam Tu Liem district on August 13.
The complex has an area of about 88,7ha with new functional areas which will be built including areas of a water sports palace, athletic training zone and a national sport complex headquarters.
The Keirin racing facility, which is dedicated nearly 63,000 square metres of the total land, is expected to be the highlight of the complex besides the National Stadium.
The complex includes buildings constructed less than 25-storeys high and designed in harmony with neighbouring facilities.
In addition, a tunnel has been recommended for the complex to solve traffic congestion after each sporting event.
The green-tree-covered complex will have modern architecture to ensure adequate conditions for organising SEA Games and ASIAD.
