The Hanoi team took the lead in the National Excellent Student Contest for the 2023-24 academic year, winning 184 prizes, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) announced on January 25.

Hanoi students won 14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes, and 55 consolation prizes. Among the 14 first prizes, English has 6 prizes; Chemistry has 2 prizes; Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, History, Geography, and French have 1 prize each.

More than 180 high school students from the Hanoi team took the test in 12 subjects of the National Excellent Students Contest for the 2023-24 school year, which was held simultaneously across the country on January 5 and 6.

In this year's competition, 5,812 candidates from 63 provinces and cities competed in 12 subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, and Chinese. The competition was conducted with the utmost rigor, especially in grading, with two separate rounds to ensure accuracy and objectivity.
