According to the plan, the city aims to achieve an educational attainment rate of 74.2%, with 54% of the workforce holding a degree or certificate this year.
The plan aims to involve students, parents, enterprises, and workers in the implementation of vocational education and training policies. This active participation will facilitate a smooth transition from secondary education to higher levels and vocational training.
It also supports the transformation of the work structure by integrating scientific and technological advances during the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
To achieve the goals, the city will strengthen communication efforts to inform the public about basic vocational training support policies. This includes providing three-month training programs for eligible workers, in keeping with the timely implementation of the city's policy to promote vocational training.
Activities will be carried out to raise business awareness of the benefits of vocational training for sustainable business development and to encourage active participation and positive contributions to vocational training programs.
Hanoi will also enhance career guidance in secondary and high schools and vocational training centers. It will establish mechanisms and support policies for tuition fees for secondary and high school graduates attending intermediate and college-level vocational training in the city.
In 2024, Hanoi will host Vocational Education Day, creating opportunities for vocational education institutions to engage with students in secondary and high schools, as well as vocational education centers. The event aims to introduce, advise, and provide guidance to help graduates plan their career paths.
The city will strengthen the close ties between the government, educational institutions, and businesses in vocational training.
