Hanoi sets plan for economic development in 2018
Hanoi is setting plan for socio-economic development task in 2018 with the major focus on comprehensive measures to support enterprises.
As one of the key tasks, Hanoi People’s Committee directs agencies, departments, districts and towns to encourage the establishment of enterprises, and take comprehensive measures to help enterprises ease difficulties and promote their development.The Hanoi People’s Committee asserts important role of enterprises in the city’s economic development, and continues the leadership as well as operation to realize the socio-economic development tasks.

Hanoi expects to have over 50,000 newly established enterprises in 2018 (including business households which are transformed into enterprises).
The city aims to implement two projects, including project on supporting startup and project on supporting creative startups.
The project on supporting startup focuses mainly on the business households which are transformed into enterprises.
In an effort to meet target of establishing 200,000 enterprises by 2020, Hanoi requests districts and towns to encourage at least 10% of business households in the area to transform into enterprises.
So far, the municipal Authority of Plan and Investment has proposed project on supporting creative startup to the Municipal People’s Committee for three times, said Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee.
Hanoi has been the leading city nationwide for supporting enterprises, according to Director of the Authority of Plan and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen.
This is considered an important task in the city’s strategy on socio-economic development; it contributes to increasing competitiveness and enhancing the fast and sustainable development of enterprises.
Hanoi aims to continue taking measures comprehensively and support development of enterprises in 2018. Apart from reviewing and assessing production and business of enterprises, the People’s Committee boosts administration reform and improves investment environment for enterprises.
It is expected that all enterprises register their business online, thus reducing the time to enter the market.
More activities will be conducted in order to support human resource development of small and medium enterprises, help business managers to improve knowledge of business administration and integration, and develop the cadres of businesspeople.
The city will also helps small and medium enterprises to access credit capitals and boost export promotion activities, Nguyen Manh Quyen said.
