Hanoi: Serving people's travelling needs, ensuring traffic safety during Tet Holiday

The Hanoi People’s Committee has just released Plan No. 243/KH-UBND on deploying the scheme on strengthening solutions for assurance of road traffic order and safety in areas having industrial parks and clusters in the capital city according to Decision No. 2376/QD-BGTVT dated July 29, 2016 of the Ministry of Transport.
Under the Plan, the Capital city sets up following key targets: 100% of managers and employees in industrial zones and residents living around the zones will be provided legal knowledge on traffic order and safety annually; 100% of drivers will be trained safe skills; removing 100% of black points and high risk areas of traffic accidents; 100% of road signal system will be standardized; between 80-100% of large and medium-scale-industrial parks and clusters will have convenient and safe bus stops; etc.

The Municipal Traffic Safety Board will take prime responsibility to build and issue cooperation mechanism among the traffic safety Board, Management Boards of industrial parks and export processing zones, municipal Labor Union and People’s Committees of districts in ensuring order and traffic safety.


 
The Department of Transport will chair and cooperate with Departments of Investment and Planning, Finance and relevant units to review and figure out an overall investment roadmap of overpasses, tunnels for pedestrians in industrial parks and clusters in the area; remove black points and high risk areas of traffic accidents on routes around the parks; review and repair degraded categories at the connection points between industrials zones, clusters and routes managed by the capital city; adjust planning of bus routes to enhance public transportation.
 
Additionally, the Department of Transport is tasked to take prime responsibility and coordinate with Hanoi Transport Corporation and relevant units to add bus routes for industrial parks, clusters in the area into the project on improving the service quality and developing public transportation system by bus in Ha Noi for the 2016-2020 period with an orientation to 2025; chair and coordinate with the Ha Noi Management Board for industrial parks and export processing zones and relevant bodies to check and install bus stops so as to ensure convenience and safety for cadres and workers.
 
Besides, the Department of Transport is in charge of taking prime responsibility and cooperating with the Hanoi Management Board for industrial parks and export processing zones, the Department of Construction and relevant parties to make surveys and install additional camera systems, street lighting systems on key routes around industrial zones and clusters to maintain order, security and traffic safety in the area; strengthening communication on traffic order and safety in association with training of labor safety and fire prevention of enterprises and so on.
