Hanoi prepares for Japanese Cultural Exchange Festival 2018
The Hanoi People`s Committee is preparing for Japanese Cultural Exchange Festival 2018.
The event will be held by the Hanoi City People’s Committee in coordination with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnamese-Japanese diplomatic ties.
The Japanese Cultural Exchange Festival 2018 will take place from March 23 to 26. According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Truong Minh Tien, units are actively implementing the work under the directions of the City People's Committee.
For the cherry blossom exhibition, Japanese artisans are presenting the idea of designing cherry blossoms and some Vietnamese flowers around the grounds of the Ly Thai To statue garden. In particular, cherry blossoms have been prepared to stay fresh throughout the festival.
A noteworthy feature of the festival is the introduction of Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine. Accordingly, there will be 21 booths, 10 Japanese and 10 Vietnamese, as well as a common booth displaying typical products from Japan and Hanoi.
In addition, the Japanese side is planning to erect 23 booths to introduce Japanese culture. In particular, 20 Yosakoi dance teams have been hired to perform on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Ly Thai To Street on March 24-25.
Furthermore, the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center is cooperating with AIC to set up a program of discussion and investment promotion cooperation between Hanoi and Japan in the morning of March 23.
To ensure the safety and success of the festival, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed strengthening parking facilities and environmental sanitation. Green Park Company will develop content for the planting of cherry blossom trees and requested the Department of Health, Education and Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) to develop the content on educational activities and healthcare.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy suggested that the Department of Culture and Information will soon complete the script of the program with the consensus of the Japanese Embassy in the opening ceremony. Along with that, Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will soon complete the content of the detailed plan and submit it to the City People's Committee for approval.
To arrange the Yosakhoi cultural and dance space, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested AIC Company and the Organizing Committee of Japan to soon complete the script and the detailed design.
Visitors will have an opportunity to admire the flowers of the two countries, experience traditional Japanese handicrafts and delicacies, a Japanese tea ceremony, kimono fashion shows, and traditional folk dances and games. As scheduled, about 30 Japanese cherry trees and 10,000 cherry branches, as well as Vietnamese bonsai trees and other flowers, will be displayed.
The event will include traditional art performances such as Ca Tru and Xam singing by artists from Hanoi.
By introducing images of Japanese cultural beauty, the land and the people to Hanoians, it will be an opportunity to share experiences and cooperation in the field of culture, education, health, tourism, and trade between Hanoi and Japan.
On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, the Japanese Cultural Exchange Festival aims to further enhance the understanding, trust, and cohesion between the people of the two countries.
