Hanoi implements project on protecting craft villages' environment
The Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision 6136/QD-UBND dated August 31, approving the project on protecting environment of craft villages in Hanoi to 2020, orientation to 2030.
Under the Decision, in the period of 2017 to 2020, Hanoi will focus on following tasks:
Reviewing, completing institutions and policies on environment of craft villages for further application; reviewing, considering, proposing amendment, supplement and making of policies and institutions in order to implement urgent projects for investing, constructing and operating models to collect, sort and handle solid, liquid waste and emissions in occupational villages; making preferential policies, encouraging investors in order to mobilize private investment in environment protection in occupational villages;
Improving public awareness of craft villages, focusing on production in association with environment protection; assessing, classifying the craft villages according to environmental pollution criteria issued together with Circular 31/2016/TT-BTNMT dated October 14, 2016 of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment;
Designing a monitoring network, building and operating automatic monitoring system effectively to control pollution in 80 craft villages in Hanoi according to Decision 14/QD-UBND dated January 2, 2013;
Investing, constructing and operating pilot models to handle pollution with modern technology for different kinds of production in seriously polluted craft villages; the models are considered urgent projects and funded by the city.
For the 2020-2030 period, Hanoi will continue effort to complete mechanisms and policies on environmental protection for comprehensive and effective implementation; consider supportive mechanism and policy to help enterprises and organizations in sorting and recycling waste; further build and operate monitoring system effectively, and integrate database for protecting environment in craft villages of Hanoi; guarantee that all villages of Hanoi are recognized for meeting environment protection standard; handle environmental pollution in the city.
