The ceremony, held at the Temple of Literature, marked the 22nd year that the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi People's Council, Hanoi People's Committee, and Hanoi Youth Union have honored top graduates from universities and academies across the capital.
"For thousands of years, Vietnam has always been a nation that highly values education and academic talents," said Chu Hong Minh, Secretary of Hanoi Youth Union.
The city's leaders have introduced and carried out many policies to attract, nurture, and employ talents, and to help the city grow and become a modern, civilized, and globally integrated metropolis, she added.
"For more than two decades, the annual recognition of top graduates has been meticulously planned and held with respect and dignity," Minh said.
Now in its 22nd edition, the program takes on greater significance as it is one of the serial activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (Oct. 10, 1954 - Oct. 10, 2024), she said.
"Today's Golden Book inscription ceremony records the names of 100 exemplary top graduates of Hanoi in 2024, honoring the city's proud tradition of recognizing young talent," Minh said.

She encouraged the valedictorians to look forward to a bright future, fully aware of the long road ahead, filled with both opportunities and challenges, especially in the context of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam and the world.
"Under all circumstances, the young scholars must hold fast to their will and resilience developed through years of hard work and study," she stressed.
"Go forward with your hearts full of youthful passion under the leadership of the Party, and use your sharp intellect and wisdom to have confidence in life and in yourselves."
"From today, every step forward in your career is part of the city's development, a testament to a generation of strong-willed students eager to contribute to a prosperous Vietnam," the secretary said.
As part of the program, the 100 outstanding top graduates offered incense and reported their achievements at Kinh Thien Palace, located in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
The recognition ceremony for the top 100 graduates of 2024 will be held on October 3.
