Showcase School is the title for educational institutions with an innovative vision that recognizes the power of digital transformation to unleash the potential of students and teachers.

Wellspring Hanoi bilingual school, one of the three Vietnamese schools, has been awarded the Microsoft in Education certificate in recognition of membership in the 2021 - 2022 Showcase School program.

The two others include Sky-Line Primary in Danang City and Vo Thanh Trinh Senior High School in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, which are the educational institutions meeting Microsoft’s standards.

The three aforementioned schools will join more than a network of 400 learning establishments worldwide to become Microsoft Showcase Schools during this academic year.

The Microsoft Showcase Schools are a global community of schools engaged in digital transformation to improve teaching and learning.

To be eligible for this prestigious certificate, schools must meet six criteria, namely commitment to digital transformation, culture of learning and growth, personalized learning and inclusion, equipping pupils with future-ready skills, data-driven decisions, and benefits from the adoption of Microsoft Solutions.

The Microsoft Showcase Schools Program is an opportunity to engage with Microsoft and like-minded school leaders around the world to deepen and expand education transformation by using the Education Transformation Framework.

Showcase School creates student-centered, immersive, and inclusive experiences that inspire lifelong learning.

Besides, it stimulates the development of essential future-ready skills so that students are empowered to achieve more.

"Showcase School is the title for educational institutions with an innovative vision that recognizes the power of digital transformation to unleash the potential of students and teachers," said Phung Viet Thang, sales director of Microsoft Vietnam.

Microsoft expects that leaders of these schools will share and exchange practical stories and ideas about educational innovation, so that more schools can build digital transformation road maps, Thang stressed.

In addition to schools, Microsoft also honored 265 officials, teachers, and education experts from many provinces across the country with the title of Microsoft Innovative Educators (MIE) for the 2021-2022 school year.

"I hoped that the recognition will create the motivation for schools across Vietnam to boost their digital transformation in teaching and learning. The Ministry of Education will promote the application of information technology at local schools and the improvement of digital competence among teachers in the coming time," Nguyen Son Hai, director of the Information Technology Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, told The Hanoi Times.

Digital competence means not only ability to use the computer, but also involves the skills to teach, learn, and work safely and effectively in the digital environment, especially during the current pandemic situation, Hai added.
