The Vinh Hung Eco Park is an important project in the Capital’s construction master plan from  2030 to 2050. Under the adjusted plan, public and mixed-land area increased by 14.39 ha (bringing the total to 34.24 ha, accounting for 8% of the total land use area), while the land area for greenery, amusement parks, and water surface decreased by 41.92ha (now 111.08ha, accounting for 26.21%) and the land area for training/education institutions was upwards adjusted to 22.7ha.
In September 2016, Hanoi opened the ground-breaking the Kim Quy cultural tourism and amusement park in Vinh Ngoc commune, Dong Anh district, which features both traditional culture of Hanoi and the modern design of Universal Studios and Disneyland. The project is part of Hanoi’s plan to build 25 new parks, 3-5 of which meet international and regional standards, and plant one million trees until 2030.
Covering more than 100 hectares, the project has an initial investment of 4.6 trillion VND (209 million USD) by Sun Group. Designed by ITEC Group from the US , the Kim Quy (Golden Turtle) Park is inspired by the story of the Co Loa spiral-shaped citadel (located in Dong Anh district of Hanoi now) which was built by King An Duong Vuong in the third century BC with the help of the Golden Turtle God.
Hanoi welcomed 28.8 million tourists in 2017, up 9% against the previous year and surpassing the set target of 1%. Of this total, 4.9 million are foreign tourists, up 23% against the previous year, surpassing the set target of 15%. Meanwhile, the capital of Vietnam also welcomed 18.8 million domestic tourists, up 6% against the previous year, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
