FVH Film Night to screen movie on Uncle Ho
On August 24, FVH Film Night organized by Friends of Vietnam Heritage will present Nha Tien Tri (The Prophecy), a film directed by director Vuong Duc.
Produced in 2015, The Prophecy is one of Duc’s most successful films. Duc is also director of the Viet Nam Feature Films Studio (VFS). He made this film in collaboration with screenwriter and poet, Hoang Nhuan Cam.
The film recounts President Ho Chi Minh’s time at the Viet Bac Resistance War Base in Northern Viet Nam during the revolutionary struggle against French colonists from 1947 to 1950.
Despite the context of war, the film does not use fierce fighting scenes, exploding landmines and so on to describe the horrors of the battlefield. Instead, the war unfolds with particularly humanistic and open perspectives.
With authentic footage of the mighty northwestern mountainous areas in Viet Nam and magnificent scenes filmed in Russia, President Ho is well portrayed as a great patriotic revolutionary leader despite his simple appearance. It shows that despite it being a time of extreme hardship, including bombing, he had firm faith in the struggle, and accurately forecasted the time of liberation in Ha Noi.
The movie, with English subtitles, will be screened at 7.30pm. Venue: VFS, 4 Thuy Khue Street, Tay Ho District. Donation: VND150,000. Limit: 50 people.
Revolutionary: Actor Bui Bai Binh plays the role of President Ho Chi Minh in the movie The Prophecy by director Vuong Duc.
