France’s Air Liquide to double investment in Vietnam

Vietnam would give priority to the energy sector, especially renewable energy; manufacturing and processing; supporting industries relating to the production of computers, phones, automobile and oil refinery, among others, which Air Liquide has advantage of.
France’s leading industrial gas supplier Air Liquide plans to double its investment in Vietnam in green energy development, contributing to Vietnam’s efforts towards industrialization and modernization, a group executive was quoted by the governmental portal as saying.

In a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung on March 5, Air Liquide’s executive said Vietnam has favorable business and investment environments, which are a major attraction to foreign investors. 

The France-based company made its first presence in Vietnam in 1996. With over 10 plants across the country, Air Liquide provides auxiliary gas to a wide range of industries such as automobile, glass, metal, electronics, food, petrochemicals, and healthcare. 

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said Vietnam encourages investors to expand business and production in the country, adding that Vietnam would continue to improve its business and investment environments. 

According to Dung, the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France has progressed positively over time, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment. 

Many French companies has been investing efficiently in Vietnam and contributing to the overall economic development. 

In the coming time, Vietnam would give priority to the energy sector, especially renewable energy; manufacturing and processing; supporting industries relating to the production of computers, phones, automobile and oil refinery, among others, which Air Liquide has advantage of. 

On this basis, Dung expected Air Liquide to facilitate preparation process for expanding business and production in Vietnam.
