At the time of the uprising, ancient Vietnam had been occupied by China's Han Dynasty since the year 111 BC.

The ancient Vietnamese army, led by the two sisters of the Trung family, fought off the Chinese invaders (Han dynasty) and regained national independence.

After the war, the two Trung sisters were crowned queens and established their capital in Hanoi's Me Linh district.

Independence was short-lived, for three years later the enemy returned with a powerful army. Outnumbered, the Vietnamese were subdued and the two Trung sisters took their own lives by throwing themselves into Hanoi's Day River.

On the night of February 15, or the sixth day of the first lunar month, a digital show re-enacting the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) uprising will be displayed in Hanoi's Me Linh district using 3D mapping technology.

The art show will be held at the Hai Ba Trung Temple, a special national relic, to commemorate the 1984th anniversary of the revolution.

Titled "The Echo of Me Linh," the first 3D show will depict the revolution from the day it began to the day the two queens died with dignity.

According to local authorities, the show connects the past, present and future and conveys several messages to the audience, taking them back to the days when the Vietnamese people lived and fought bravely for freedom.

It is hoped that the show will become a frequent cultural and artistic tourism product, attracting the young generation who will be more appreciative of the nation's history, thus increasing their affection for the country and gratitude for the contribution of their ancestors.

The 3D display show is part of the uprising commemoration festival.

Other activities at the festival include a parade and ritual ceremony, cultural and art performances, folk games, and sports games.
