Film Week to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army
The event will take place on December 22-28, 2014 throughout the country.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has promulgated Decision No. 4080/QĐ-BVHTTDL about organizing the Film Week to mark 70 years of establishing Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2014).
Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism entrusts Cinema Department in coordination with Vietnam feature film studio Co.,Ltd and national documentary and scientific film studio company to organize the Film Week to celebrate 70 years for establishing Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2014).
The Film Week will screen the film ” Nhung nguoi viet huyen thoai” (The legend makers) by director Bui Tuan Dung , produced by Vietnam feature film studio Co.,Ltd and the documentary film “Duong toi doc lap tu do” (Road to the Independence and Freedom) produced by national documentary and scientific film studio company.
The “The legend makers” tells a story about Vietnamese soldiers, who sacrificed their lives to install petrol pipes across the Truong Son trail during the American resistance war. It won the Golden Lotus prize at the 18th Vietnam Film Festival in 2013.
Some expenses are extracted from releasing and introducing source in 2014 of Cinema Department.
The Cinema Department will hold a printing work and send DVD of the film ” Nhung nguoi huyen thoai” (The legend makers) and the documentary film ” Duong toi doc lap tu do” (Road to the Independence and Freedom) to 64 companies of cinema and Centre for Releasing Films and Projection in provinces and cities of the Central Vietnam.
The Film Week aims to honor glorious history and combats, and meet people’s demand nationwide, especially young generation to review tradition of Vietnam People’s Army, which contributes to educating the love of the country and encouraging people’s national pride and patriotism and strengthening the leadership of the Party and the State in the new period and the integration period.
