Filipino opera singer to perform in Hanoi

Philippine leading soprano singer Rachelle Gerodias will take part in Subscription Concert Vol.77 of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra on January 15-16 at the Hanoi Opera House.
Gerodias, graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music and received her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Literature from the famed Eastman School of Music in New York, is an emerging topnotch opera performer in Asia.
She has assumed lead roles in more than 20 different productions in the US, Japan and the Asia Pacific.
In the upcoming event, besides Filipino folk songs, Gerodias will sing arias from operas “Romeo and Juliet” and “Barber of Seville” along with tenor Byeongin Park from the Republic of Korea.
The Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, led by American conductor Olivier Ochanine, will perform various musical compositions of famous composers Edvard Grieg of Norway and Maurice Ravel of France.
