The new designs of a fashion label from Japan are always oriented towards sustainable values and environmental protection, according to the General Director of UNIQLO Vietnam Osamu Ikezoe.
The UNIQLO's fashion show to introduce “LifeWear Fall/Winter 2022” fashion collection took place last weekend in Hanoi. |
A fashion show-themed “Today’s Classics” introducing the brand’s “LifeWear Fall/Winter 2022” Collection was held at Hanoi Old Quarter’s Arts and Culture Center, featuring the latest fashion pieces using recycled materials.
“We apply modern technology to create products toward a sustainable future. For example, the Blue Cycle Jeans products save up to 99% of the water used compared to conventional manufacturing processes. Besides, Fluffy Yarn Fleece Jacket is made from 100% recycled PET material,” he stated.
The fact is that UNIQLO clothes are transitioning to 100% recycled materials, in all its components, not just the fabric, but zippers and all little parts as well.
To demonstrate this change, the brand is focusing on three items, including the classic men's full zip fleece jacket and men's and women's fluffy yarn fleece jackets.
“That was the result of over twenty years of research. To ensure that our fleece keeps its status as a standard, we're updating the materials while maintaining the high quality,” Ikezoe said.
“It’s like refurbishing the foundation of a house but keeping the living space intact. It is similar to the way you are preserving this ancient building and turning it into a cultural space here, the ancient building at No 22 Hang Buom Street,” he added.
Along with the fashion show, a talk show on sustainable, classic values and Hanoi culture was organized by the brand last weekend at Hanoi Old Quarter’s Arts and Culture Center.
