Enjoy four new cruise ships in Da Nang on New Year 2018

Da Nang Department of Tourism said on the occasion of Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018, the city will receive four international cruise ships at Tien Sa port carrying about 6,000 passengers.

Four ships include Volendem which brought 1,000 passengers and docked on December 24; Azamara Journey with 400 passengers and to be arrived in the city on December 27; Costa Fortuna with 3,000 passengers on December 28 and MSC Lirica with 2,000 passengers to be docked at Tien Sa port on January 1, 2018.
The department said some international flight routes would aslo be put into service on this occasion such as Incheon – Da Nang (Vietjet Air, Eastar Jet); Hongkong –Da Nang (Jetstar); Busan – Da Nang (T’way Air); Deagu – Da Nang (T’way Air, Air Busan); Osaka – Da Nang (Jetstar)… contributing increase the number of international visitors to the city in coming time.
On 2017 May 16, the central city has launched Han Da Nang Princess, a five-star cruise ship offering tours of the Han River. The city’s culture, sports and tourism department said the cruise ship, built in HCM City, has three decks with full recreational facilities and diving services for 198 passengers.
The ship, which was built with total investment of VND50 billion (US$2.2 million), offers days and nights tours along the Han River. The city has given licences for 29 boats for carrying tourists in the Han River.
In 2015, the city also debuted the first five-star cruise ship, Harem2. According to the department, nearly 300,000 tourists, of which 90,000 are foreigners, booked tours and accommodation in the city for the four-day holiday (from April 29 to May 2), a 30 percent increase compared with last year. Four and five-star hotels were up to 80 to 85 percent of capacity during the May Day holidays.
